How to solve Stored Procedure XXXX returned the following results. DBMS: 12, Microsoft Dynamics GP?

In dynamics GP, user may receive below error message.

Stored Procedure XXXX(Stored Procedure name) returned the following results. DBMS: 12, Microsoft Dynamics GP: 0

The cause of this issue may be the temporary table is not cleared from the appropriate Dynamics GP SQL server instance.

Resolution:

If users get above error message, then we need to restart the service for appropriate instance of Dynamics GP SQL Server. After the service has been restarted, all the temporary tables from the tempdb database will be cleared and user would not get those error message.

Follow below steps to restart the SQL server instance for Dynamics GP.

Method 1:

  1. Log out all the users from Microsoft Dynamics GP.
  2. Open SQL Server Management Studio (go to: Start–>All Programs–>Microsoft SQL Server–>SQL Server Management Studio).
  3. In the Connect to server window, enter the Server name box, type the name of the server that is running SQL Server for Dynamics GP
  4. In the Authentication box, click SQL Authentication
  5. In the Login box, type sa.
  6. In the Password box, type the password for the sa user, and then click Connect.
  7. In the Object Explorer pane, right-click the appropriate Dynamics GP instance of SQL Server, and then click Stop.
  8. Right-click the appropriate Dynamics GP instance of SQL Server again, and then click Start.
  9. Now open Dynamics GP to test whether the error message popups or not.

Method 2:

  1. Open Run command(Start–>Run) and then type “services.msc”.
  2. Select the appropriate Dynamics GP instance of  SQL Server.
  3. Right-click, and then click Stop.
  4. Right-click the appropriate Dynamics GP instance of SQL Server again, and then click Start.
  5. Now open Dynamics GP to test whether the error message popups or not.
