How to Unlock User ID/Account in Dynamics GP?

In Dynamics GP, If user attempt to enter wrong password more times then the account will be locked and the user can’t login into GP. For this case, we need to follow certain procedures.

Error: This User account has been lock out. Contact your system administrator.

Follow below steps to unlock the user id/account:

Method 1:

1. Login into GP as “sa” user id.
2. Open user setup window(Tools–>Setup–>System–>User).
3. Choose the user id who is locked in.
4. Enter new password and confirm.
5. Clear the check box “Enforce Password Policy” in Advance SQL option section.
6. Click Save button.
7. Now login into GP with the user id who is locked out.
8. If user able to login in GP without facing any issues follow below steps, not then go to method 2.
9. Log off GP and login with “sa” user id.
10. Go to User setup window (Tools–>Setup–>System–>User).
11. Enter the user id who is locked out.
12. Under Advanced SQL Options, mark the “Enforce Password Policy” check box and click Save.

Method 2:

1. Open SQL server Management studio(SSMS).
2. Connect to the server which you have created the data source for GP.
3. In left pane, go to: Security–>Logins.
4. Select the locked user id then right click and select properties.
5. In General section of the Properties window, clear the “Enforce password policy” check box.
6. In Status section on the Properties window, clear the check box “Login is locked out” check box.
7. Click OK button.
8. Open Microsoft Dynamics GP, and then log on as the “sa” user.
9. Go to User setup window (Tools–>Setup–>System–>User).
10. Enter the user id who is locked out.
11. Under Advanced SQL Options, mark the “Enforce Password Policy” check box and click Save.
12. Open GP with log on as user who locked out.
